Dr. Owen Beck

Postdoctoral Fellow, Mechanical Engineering & Biology, Georgia Institute of Technology (2018 – Present)
Ph.D. Intergrative Physiology (Biomechanics), University of Colorado-Boulder (2017)
B.S. Kinesiology (Exercise Science & Health Promotion), Humboldt State University (2013)

Owen is an NIH postdoctoral fellow (F32) passionate about augmenting walking, running, and sprinting performance. His current research strives to reduce how much energy leg muscles expend during locomotion. Prior to arriving at Georgia Institute of Technology, his research focused on 1) improving the prescription of running-prostheses for individuals with leg amputations and 2) exercise and aging. Outside the lab, Owen enjoys running with Georgia Tech’s Running Club and spoiling his two cats, Polly & Bear.
